Job summary

Henry Ford Jackson Hospital is seeking a Clinical Tech to support cardiovascular ICU teams in Jackson, MI. The role involves direct patient care tasks, vitals collection, and assisting with procedures under the supervision of nurses and physicians.

You will help with daily activities, monitor patient comfort and safety, document findings, and participate in mobility and post-procedure care while delivering culturally sensitive care to diverse patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Nursing student with two semesters completed or RN program graduate.
• Graduate of LPN, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assistant program.
• Certified in Phlebotomy.
• Previous Clinical Tech experience.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals and assist with procedures under RN/MD guidance.
• Record patient data accurately (vitals, intake/output).
• Assist with mobility, activities of daily living, and comfort.
• Support RNs during bedside procedures and equipment use.
• Perform phlebotomy and IV access under supervision.

JOB SUMMARY:

Eligible for $1,000 SIGN-ON BONUS - Join Our Team as a Clinical Tech at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital!

Department:Cardiovascular ICU

Location:Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, 205 N East Ave., Jackson, MI 49201

Schedule:36 hours per week, every other weekend and holiday rotation

Shift:7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12 hours shifts)

Whether you’re taking vitals, assisting with procedures, or simply ensuring comfort, you'll be a vital part of the patient journey.

• Heart of hearts unit specializing in cardiac care and services
• Innovative team using evidence-based practice to support nursing autonomy and workflow

• Collecting and recording essential patient data - vitals, food and fluid intake/output, and more - with precision and care.
• Responding to patient needs and partnering with RNs to ensure maximum comfort and safety.
• Noticing the little changes that can make a big difference - and reporting them promptly.
• Supporting mobility by helping patients ambulate and get where they need to go.
• Assisting with oxygen devices under RN direction and applying slings post-pacemaker procedures.
• Performing clinical tasks such as Foley catheter insertion, bladder scans, enemas, blood glucose checks, and documenting results.
• Providing help with daily activities, like dressing, meals, and hygiene.
• Supporting RNs during equipment use and bedside procedures.
• Delivering culturally sensitive care to a wide range of patients - from pediatrics to geriatrics.
• Promoting positive experiences for patients and their families through kind, respectful interaction.
• Performing phlebotomy and IV access procedures with confidence and care.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

To qualify, you’ll need a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following:

• Current nursing student who has minimally completed two semesters or has graduated from a Registered Nurse program
• Graduate of an LPN, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assistant program
• Certified in Phlebotomy
• Previous Clinical Tech experience

Also required:

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to tailor care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
• Experience in an acute care setting (preferred, not required)

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Valid BLS certification (or must be obtained during Patient Care Orientation)
