Job summary

University of Michigan is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (PA or NP) for the Cardiac Intensive Critical Care Area. The role involves direct patient care in a high-acuity cardiac ICU, under physician supervision, with responsibilities spanning from history-taking to discharge planning.

Qualified candidates include licensed PAs with NCCPA certification or NPs with appropriate Michigan state credentials, BLS/ACLS, and 1 year of ICU/cardiology experience.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Michigan.
• NCCPA certification is required.
• ARC-PA accredited PA program completion is required.
• DEA registration is required.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certified.
• 1 year APP experience in ICU/cardiology/heart failure or enrolled in an ICU-focused APP fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Under physician supervision, directs and coordinates care in the cardiac ICU.
• Patient histories, physicals, progress notes, and discharge planning.
• Code Team coverage as primary responder.
• Order tests and prescribe medications as appropriate.
• Coordinate with attending physicians and other providers for seamless care transitions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient status and treatments.
