Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) in Boston, MA is seeking an Electrophysiology RN to join the EP Lab team. You will support perioperative nursing care, patient assessment, medication administration, and sedation during invasive EP procedures and device implantations, while ensuring safe and efficient patient flow.

The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, nurses, and EP staff; prior EP and sedation experience is preferred; strong communication and computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification is required in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
• Two years of experience as an RN in cardiology procedural areas or two years in critical care
• Prior EP experience strongly preferred.
• Prior EP experience strongly preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Fluency in another language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
