Job summary

AdvantageCare Physicians (ACPNY) is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiogram imaging studies to assist cardiologists in diagnosing cardiovascular conditions. You will operate ultrasound equipment, obtain diagnostic views, and assist with patient preparation and documentation in a busy New York City area practice.

Required RDCS or RCS certification, ARDMS/CCI credentials, BLS, and 1–2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Formal training and completion of coursework from an accredited sonography school.
• RDCS or RCS certification required (ARDMS or CCI).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate echocardiogram equipment to perform cardiac ultrasound imaging studies.
• Provide excellent diagnostic echo images, correct views and accurate measurement for Transthoracic Echoes and Stress Echoes.
• Review patient’s medical history and physician’s instructions.
• Explain procedure to patient and record any additional medical history that may be relevant to the condition being viewed.
• Prepare equipment and patient for procedure.
• Monitor patient flow and communicate delays to patients.
• Communicate critical results to the ordering provider and/or care team.
• Check emails and tasks to respond promptly.
• Assist with orientation of new sonographers.
• Perform other related duties as required.
