Keck Hospital of USC in Los Angeles is seeking an Echo Tech to perform non-invasive cardiology imaging and related duties in collaboration with the Echo Cardiologist and supervisor. The role emphasizes high-quality diagnostic imaging and timely patient care.

The Echo Tech will assist with Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) in the operating room, ICU, and Cath Lab, and participate in after-hours standby.

Qualifications

• Req High school or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited program related to sonography with emphasis on Echocardiography.
• 1 year experience in performing Echocardiograms, Stress Echos, ECGs and related diagnostic cardiac procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrates ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiography according to policy and procedure.
• Assists with Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) in OR, ICU, and Cath Lab.
• Assists with Intra Cardiac Echocardiography (ICE) in Cath Lab.
• Responds to call-back requests and participates in after-hours standby.
• Maintains accurate patient records and documentation in the Department Log Sheet.
• Performs proper cleaning and high-level disinfection of TEE probes and equipment.
• Educates patients and families about procedures and treatment.
