Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic echocardiography and assist cardiology teams in OR, ICU, and Cath Lab settings. You will ensure high-quality images and patient safety while collaborating with physicians and staff.

Requirements include accredited echocardiography training, ARDMS/CCI credentials, BLS, and strong communication in English. You will participate in after-hours standby and contribute to ongoing quality improvements within the department.

Qualifications

• Req High school or equivalent.
• Req Specialized/technical training Completion of an accredited program related to sonography with emphasis on Echocardiography.
• Req 1 year Experience in performing Echocardiograms, Stress Echos, ECG’s and other related diagnostic cardiac procedures.
• Req Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Req Demonstrates ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs technically adequate Echocardiography according to policy and procedure in an acceptable amount of time.
• Works with Echo Cardiologist and Supervisor to ensure high quality diagnostic images.
• Assists with Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) in OR, ICU, and Cath Lab.
• Assists with Intra Cardiac Echocardiography (ICE) in the Cath Lab.
• Participates in after-hours standby and call back as needed.
• Reports and documents unusual or critical values in a timely manner.
• Maintains patient records and department log sheet, cleans equipment and probes.
• Educates patients and families about procedures and treatments.
