Job summary

Heywood-Hospital is seeking a dedicated Echo Technician/Cardiac Sonographer to perform 2D and Doppler echocardiography, review patient history, and coordinate with Cardiologists. RDCS certification is preferred, with current BLS required.

The role involves day and evening shifts at our Gardner, MA location. Applicants should have formal cardiac sonography training and strong communication, computer, and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or Equivalent and formal training from an accredited medical sonography program specializing in cardiac sonography.
• Licenses: RDCS or RCS; RDCS preferred; current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Operates and interprets cardiac diagnostic imaging procedures, including 2D and Doppler echocardiography.
• Reviews medical history and directs exam based on information.
• Reports abnormal findings to Cardiologists and safeguards patients when needed.
• Manages equipment, supplies, and workflow with echo and EKG technicians.
• Cares for infection control and equipment cleaning; adheres to JCAHO guidelines.
