Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS/RCS) to perform basic and advanced echocardiography exams under cardiology direction. The role requires strong anatomy knowledge and the ability to produce high-quality images while maintaining patient care standards.

Two to three years of experience are preferred. RDCS/RCS certification must be completed within 6 months of hire, with an associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• RDCS or RCS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Completion of an accredited CAAHEP cardiac ultrasound program.
• Two to three years of experience preferred.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology; ability to obtain high-quality images.
• Good observational and interpersonal skills; basic keyboarding.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and advanced cardiac ultrasound exams under the direction of a staff Cardiologist.
• Operate ultrasound equipment and provide direct patient care while ensuring quality imaging.
• Document findings and support efficient operation of the Echocardiography Laboratory.
• Rotate between the Davis and Mayo buildings and may rotate to outreach sites.
• Assist in orientation and training of trainees and visitors in the lab.
• Occasional on-call, weekend, evening, and holiday coverage; maintain sterile procedures and precautions.
