Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a part-time Cardiac Sonographer to perform advanced echocardiography under staff Cardiologist supervision. You will operate ultrasound equipment, image a variety of cardiac conditions, and assist with preliminary reporting.

The role requires RDCS or RCS certification within six months, 2–3 years of experience preferred, and the ability to work weekends or evenings as part of on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• RDCS or RCS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• 2–3 years of experience preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of anatomy and physiology; ability to obtain high-quality images.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with patients and team.

Responsibilities

• Performs various (basic and advanced) cardiac ultrasound examinations under direction of staff Cardiologist.
• Provides direct patient care to patients.
• Rotates between the Davis and Mayo buildings and may rotate to outreach sites.
• Responsible for thorough imaging and documentation of conditions and anatomical differences.
• Uses all ultrasound techniques (gray scale, color and spectral Doppler, 3D, strain imaging) and provides preliminary reports.
• Assists in orientation and training of trainees and visitors; participates in on-call, weekends, evenings, and holiday coverage.
