Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiography studies and ensure high-quality imaging. You will work with the cardiology team to optimize patient care and assist with Doppler, 2D echoes, and stress echo.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, obtaining accurate measurements, and maintaining equipment. ARDMS registry or accredited program with clinical experience is required; BLS is expected upon hire.

Qualifications

• ARDMS registry in Adult Echocardiography or completion of a CAAHEP/CMA-accredited program with supervised clinical experience.
• Licenses and certifications required; ARDMS and BLS current or obtainable upon hire.
• Experience in transthoracic and transesophageal approaches is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient throughput and ensures satisfaction during testing.
• Reviews charts and discusses findings with the interpreting cardiologist.
• Positions patients and optimizes image quality using appropriate transducers.
• Records measurements and performs calculations for accurate reporting.
• Provides ultrasound procedures including Doppler, 2D echo, and stress echo.
• Maintains equipment, secures data, and supports quality improvement.
