Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Olathe, KS seeks a Cardiac Sonographer to join the Days shift, full‑time, at Olathe Hospital. The sonographer provides professional ultrasound imaging care, performing echocardiograms and stress studies under cardiologist supervision.

Responsibilities include pre-procedure assessment, patient communication, maintaining equipment and participating in training of students and fellows, with on‑call coverage as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in cardiac ultrasound/echocardiography.
• Training or certification in IV and UEA contrast administration.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform a pre-ultrasound assessment.
• Verify exam matches indication/diagnosis; consult physician if needed.
• Explain procedure to patient and obtain cooperation.
• Perform routine and complex cardiac ultrasound exams including echocardiograms and stress tests.
• Assist with TEE and esophageal probe handling.
• Maintain quality imaging and data for interpretation by physician.
• Provide on-call echocardiographic services as assigned.
• Maintain equipment logs and report issues.
• Educate sonographer students and trainees.
