Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled echocardiography technologist to perform a wide range of echocardiography studies for both adults and children. The role includes patient positioning, imaging across M-mode, 2D, Doppler, and color techniques, and communicating critical findings to the cardiology team.

Responsibilities also include scheduling, data recording, training new hires, and ensuring equipment readiness and supply levels. Commitment to accuracy and patient safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of experience in adult or pediatric echocardiography.
• Successful completion of accredited ultrasound/vascular technology education program specializing in echocardiography; or equivalent related experience.
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with BLS from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Obtains, measures, calculates, and records echocardiogram studies and positions patient for optimal results.
• Operates echocardiography equipment in M-mode, 2D, spectral Doppler and color Doppler techniques.
• Assesses cardiac valves for pathology and evaluates intracardiac blood flow direction and speed.
• Reviews, screens, and notifies physicians of critical abnormalities; documents findings for interpretation.
• Performs studies on outpatients and inpatients; trains new hires in echocardiography tests.
• Maintains equipment, stock, schedules, and logs examinations for billing purposes.
