Job summary

UNC Health Care in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform high quality studies including transthoracic and transesophageal echo. You will assess patients and provide emergency cardiac care as necessary, working with advanced ICU setups, including a Newborn ICU.

Candidates must have an Associate's degree in Sonography or equivalent ultrasound training. The role offers per diem hours with a salary range of $35.87 to $51.57 per hour, depending on experience. This position is onsite, primarily working weekends.

Qualifications

• Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements.
• RDCS or RCS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre- and post-procedure patient care and provide emergency cardiac care.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment daily; perform quality assurance monitoring.
• Generate ultrasound images of heart and vascular structures.
• May perform staff training and education.
• Monitor and record patient information, maintaining report storage systems.
• Prepare procedure room and equipment for daily use.

Education

Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology or a related field

Completion of a twelve-month ultrasound program
