Job summary

The candidate should have an associate degree in cardiovascular technology and at least one year of sonography experience, with pediatric echocardiography preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a cardiac ultrasound program with an associate degree in cardiovascular technology.
• Minimum 1-year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer preferred.
• Pediatric Echocardiography experience preferred.
• Familiarity with hospital computer systems and Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Perform adult cardiac ultrasound exams (TTE, TEE, SE and DOB SE) following ICAEL/ASE guidelines.
• Demonstrate correct controls to enhance image quality and optimize visualization.
• Calculate necessary measurements for diagnosis; understand disease states.
• Follow CRITICAL FINDINGS protocol and communicate results.
• Explain procedures to patients clearly and maintain calm demeanor.
• Assist physicians with ultrasound system software and troubleshooting.
• Access Cupid Report system and fill in required fields and interpretations.
• Ensure correct billing/charge codes are selected.
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisor/engineering.
• Maintain and clean ultrasound equipment and TE probes; manage daily inventory.
• Provide excellent patient service with a cheerful, professional manner.
• Remain compliant with training credentials and participate in ongoing education.
