Job summary

Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics seeks a Cardiac Sonographer to perform advanced echocardiographic imaging including transthoracic, stress and transesophageal studies. You will support patient safety, comfort and privacy while providing accurate diagnostic information and timely reporting.

The role involves equipment maintenance, documentation, and ongoing department development through training and collaboration within the SH Echo team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must have one or both RDCS, CCI certifications.
• OBMI Sonography certification.
• Graduate from an accredited school of noninvasive cardiovascular technology/ultrasound or 3 years recent experience with 800 echocardiograms.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiographic procedures (TTE, stress echo, TEE) and prepare comprehensive reports for physicians.
• Assess, prepare and monitor patients, ensuring safety, comfort, privacy and clear communication.
• Recognize and respond to adverse reactions or emergencies following protocols.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and clean ultrasound equipment to ensure readiness.
• Document procedures, measurements, and billing per Salem Health standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with team and contribute to departmental development through training and projects.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)

Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI)

Practice of Sonography (OBMI) certification
