Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform comprehensive cardiac imaging including echocardiograms across patient populations. The role requires adherence to safety, privacy, and quality standards, and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and technologists.

Typical duties include image acquisition, data annotation, and timely PACS transmission. Candidates must maintain professional credentials, communicate clearly, and participate in on-call coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Registered Medical Sonographer or Cardiac Sonographer
• CCI or Reg Diag Cardiac Sonographer
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Instructor certification a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac imaging including echocardiograms (adult, pediatric, transesophageal, stress) following protocol.
• Provide preliminary findings verbally to interpreting physician when requested.
• Ensure patient safety, privacy, and comfort; verify patient identity and exam details.
• Transport and prep patients; document procedures clearly and completely.
• Assist with other modalities and educate patients using AIDET communication style.
