Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certifications: Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Preferred Credentials: EKG certification strongly preferred.
• Customer Service Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and visitors.
• Clinical Knowledge: Ability to interpret age-specific patient needs across pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of healthcare safety, emergency preparedness, and infection control standards.
• Passion for Care: Commitment to high-quality cardiovascular care through accurate diagnostic testing and outstanding service.

Responsibilities

• Performing electrocardiograms (EKGs), rhythm strips, and other cardiac diagnostic tests for inpatient and outpatient populations, ensuring accurate records within 30 minutes of requests.
• Prioritizing test requests and responding promptly to stat requests to support efficient patient care.
• Reviewing findings from electrode positions at the time of the EKG, noting deviations for physician interpretation.
• Assisting in cardiac stress testing within the CardioDynamics Stress Lab.
• Applying Holter monitors and Signal-Averaged EKGs with patient instructions.
• Documenting all completed EKGs daily in the departmental log and EKG management system.
• Maintaining and troubleshooting department equipment and notifying leadership of maintenance needs.
