Providence is seeking a Cardiac Device Technician to support physicians and mid-level providers in an outpatient device clinic. Responsibilities include interrogating implantable cardiac devices and managing remote transmissions as part of a physician-driven care team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health or Science related field or equivalent education/experience.
  • National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International required on hire.
  • National Certified Cardiac Device Specialist - International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners.
  • National Cardiac Device Remote Monitoring Specialist - International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners.
  • National Certified Electrophysiology Specialist - International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners.
  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • 2 years experience in the healthcare and/or assessment of cardiac patients.

Responsibilities

  • Interrogation and assessment of implantable cardiac devices including pacemakers and defibrillators, and management of remote transmissions.
  • Work closely with device clinic RNs and operate under clinical supervision of implanting physicians.
  • Fulfill duties of a busy outpatient device clinic, ensuring orders are physician-driven.

Description

The Cardiac Device Technician works with physicians, mid-levels, clinical staff and office staff to effectively, efficiently and accurately fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a busy outpatient device clinic. All procedures and treatments performed must be ordered by the physician, and/or mid-level providers. Duties and responsibilities will include interrogation and assessment of implantable cardiac devices which include pacemakers, defibrillators and implantable loop recorders, as well as management of remote transmissions. The Device Technician will work closely with device clinic RN's and will be under the clinical supervision of the implanting physicians and will report to the Nursing supervisor or Clinic Administrator.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health or Science related field. Or equivalent educ/experience.
  • Upon hire: National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Or
  • Upon hire: National Certified Cardiac Device Specialist - International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners. Or

  • Upon hire: National Certified Electrophysiology Specialist - International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework/Training: Completion of ATI training.
  • Upon hire: CCDS certification
