Job summary

Providence Medical Group South is seeking a Cardiac Device Technologist to perform device interrogations and programming for pacemakers, ICDs, loop recorders, and home monitor equipment. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in cardiac telemetry or related fields.
  • 1 year of experience in cardiac services.
  • Certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and boards listed upon hire.
  • National Cardiac Device Specialist from the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners upon hire.
  • National Cardiac Device Remote Monitoring Specialist from the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners upon hire.
  • National Electrophysiology Specialist from the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners upon hire.
  • National Clinical Exercise Physiologist from the American College of Sports Medicine upon hire.
  • National EKG Technician from the National Healthcareer Association upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • National Provider ACLS from the American Heart Association upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform device interrogations, interpretations and programming of Pacemakers, ICDs, Loop Recorders, and home monitor equipment.
  • Provide clear patient education regarding cardiac care, medications, disease process, risk factors, and procedures.
  • Recognize and respond to potential emergencies and make clinical decisions per physician protocol.

Bachelor's Degree in Exercise or Health Science
5 years of experience in cardiac telemetry, electrocardiogram, electrophysiology tech, monitor tech, device industry
National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International
National Certified Cardiac Device Specialist from the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners

Job description

Description

The Cardiac Device Technologist is primarily responsible for performing device interrogations, interpretations and programming of Pacemakers, Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators, Loop Recorders, and home monitor equipment. Responsible for above procedures and processing patient data with clinical judgment using a variety of information systems while facilitating clear patient education regarding their cardiac care, medications, disease process/prevention, risk factors, and cardiac procedures. The position is responsible for recognizing and responding immediately and appropriately to potential emergency situations that arise, and making clinical decisions in regards to heart rhythms, safety, contraindications to testing, and test termination under physician protocol. Other functions may include escorting rooming patients, and providing care as directed by a provider. Potential variability in work schedule between Cardiology locations.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise or Health Science, or 5 years of experience in cardiac telemetry, electrocardiogram, electrophysiology tech, monitor tech, device industry, or device monitoring may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 1 year of experience in cardiac services
  • National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International, upon hire
  • National Certified Cardiac Device Specialist from the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners, upon hire
  • National Cardiac Device Remote Monitoring Specialist from the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners, upon hire
  • National Certified Electrophysiology Specialist from the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners, upon hire
  • National Clinical Exercise Physiologist from the American College of Sports Medicine, upon hire

Pay Range: $28.11 - $43.00 The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
