Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital is seeking an RN for the Cardiovascular Operating Room to provide comprehensive nursing care in a high‑volume CVOR. You will scrub and assist with instruments, support the surgeon and coordinate patient care from pre‑op to post‑op in a busy environment.

The role requires current RN licensure, BLS, and at least one year of relevant OR experience or completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency. A BSN and ACLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program.
• Preferred: BSN, ACLS through AHA or Red Cross (must obtain within six months of hire), OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions including selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care before, during and after procedure.
• Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.
