Job summary

MedCadre in Illinois is seeking a CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized perioperative care for cardiovascular and cardiothoracic procedures. You will prepare patients and the OR, maintain sterile technique, and support surgical teams throughout the procedure.

The role requires current RN license, graduation from accredited nursing program, BLS/ACLS, and strong clinical skills to work in a high-acuity OR environment. CNOR preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• CVOR, cardiovascular, or perioperative nursing experience preferred.
• Able to work in a high-acuity surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative patient assessments and review surgical plans.
• Prepare CVOR, equipment, instruments, and supplies for cardiovascular procedures.
• Serve as circulating or scrub RN as assigned.
• Maintain sterile technique and follow OR protocols.
• Assist with patient positioning, skin prep, and draping.
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and supplies.
• Monitor patient safety and respond to changes in condition.
• Assist surgeons and the surgical team during cardiovascular procedures.
• Handle and document surgical specimens.
• Maintain perioperative documentation and assist with room turnover.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.

CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

Provide specialized perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical procedures. The CVOR RN will prepare patients and the operating room, maintain sterile technique, support surgical procedures, and ensure safe, high-quality patient care throughout the surgical process.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile technique and follow cardiovascular surgical protocols.
