University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) is seeking a qualified Diagnostic Radiology Technologist to perform cardiac, interventional radiology and neurointerventional procedures under supervision. The role requires adherence to Joint Commission standards and collaboration with cardiovascular, radiology and neuro intervention leadership.
The ideal candidate has ARRT MRT with R or RCIS/CVT credentials, BLS and ACLS, plus one year of related experience in cath lab or interventional radiology.
Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Cardiac Catheterization/Interventional Radiology or Invasive Tech I, performs a wide range of cardiac, interventional radiology and neurointerventional procedures using x-rays. Acquires knowledge regarding the Joint Commission (TJC) and Radiology standards. Seeks direction from the Cardiovascular, Radiology and Neuro Intervention Medical Directors for the purpose of performance improvement data collection and presentation.
Work Experience: One year of experience in cardiac catherization Interventional Radiology or Neuro Intervention required.
Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) with Registered Technologist (R) (ARRT) required. or
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) required; may be completed within six months of assuming the position.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required; may be completed within six months of assuming the position.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s degree of Applied Sciences in Radiology preferred.
