Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency is seeking an Interventional Technologist to perform cardiac, neuro, body, and vascular-interventional procedures under licensed practitioners. You will prepare, administer medications, and document activities related to radiation exposure to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications include ARRT-R with advanced ARRT-VI/CI/CV, cardiology RCIS or equivalent, ACLS (and PALS on some campuses), and graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.

Qualifications

• ARRT-R certification required with advanced ARRT-VI, CI, or CV
• For cardiology, RCIS or equivalent certification with ARRT and ACLS (PALS if on certain campuses)
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to educate others

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac, neuro, body, and vascular-interventional procedures independently under licensed practitioners
• Prepare and administer medications; document radiation exposure and patient safety measures
• Identify orders, prepare patients, and document clinical history
• Optimize imaging protocols and apply ALARA principles to maximize patient safety
• Evaluate image quality, verify data storage, and assist in procedures
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers
• Maintain sterile technique and monitor hemodynamic data
• Operate and ensure quality control of imaging equipment
• Initiate ACLS protocols when necessary and participate in quality improvement activities

Job description

Role Summary:

An Interventional Technologist independently performs cardiac, neuro, body, and vascular-interventional procedures, assisting licensed practitioners. They prepare, administer medications, and document activities related to radiation exposure, ensuring patient safety and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history.
• Optimize imaging protocols, maximize patient safety, and apply ALARA principles.
• Administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
• Evaluate image quality, verify data storage, and assist in procedures.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
• Maintain intra-arterial access, monitor physiological data, and perform manual hemostasis.
• Operate and ensure quality control of monitoring and imaging equipment.
• Initiate ACLS protocols when necessary, maintain sterile techniques, and record hemodynamic data.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in all duties.

Qualifications & Skills:

Certification by ARRT-R with advanced ARRT-VI, CI, or CV is required. For cardiology, a specialty training or ARRT certification with RCIS or equivalent, along with ACLS (and PALS if on certain campuses), is necessary. Graduate from an accredited radiologic technology program. The role demands technical expertise, attention to safety, and ability to educate others.
