UChicago Medicine AdventHealth – Chicagoland is seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist to join a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.

You will perform complex cardiovascular, electrophysiology and interventional procedures, maintain equipment, ensure patient safety, and contribute to quality improvement.

This full-time role offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus for eligible applicants, Day shift, competitive benefits, and opportunities across multiple campuses.

Qualifications

Must hold BLS certification and be eligible as RN or radiology tech/licensed professional
Experience in cath lab or interventional procedures preferred
Ability to read and interpret ECGs and monitor patient status
Strong communication with patients, families and healthcare team

Responsibilities

Perform cardiovascular, electrophysiology, interventional and peripheral procedures
Operate and maintain angiography and related equipment
Document accurate medical records for each patient
Train and supervise new personnel; participate in quality improvements
Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards

Responsible for performing a wide range of technical skills during various cardiovascular, non-ablation electrophysiology, or interventional radiology procedures to ensure efficient, comfortable, and safe patient examinations. This position is proficient in two out of the three standard roles of scrub, circulate, and monitor, following the policies, procedures, and processes of the department and institution. This role adheres to the guidelines and standards of professional practice associations. In addition, this position actively participates in providing outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all individuals. Maintains and operates equipment and supplies for cardiovascular procedures, ensuring proper setup and sterilization. Produces accurate and timely medical records for each patient based on the scope and complexity of the intervention procedure and patient clinical conditions. Trains and supervises new personnel, providing orientation and ongoing education. Participates in quality and performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes. Ensures adherence to regulatory standards and enforces safety regulations. Maintains accurate and secure medical records, following prescribed processes for documentation. Demonstrates cross-functional abilities and leadership skills within the cardiovascular team. Takes scheduled emergency calls and responds in a timely manner. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures, including coronary, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and peripheral interventions. Verifies orders, facilitates implementation, and communicates with physicians as needed. Administers and evaluates effectiveness of treatments and medications according to policy and training. Other duties as assigned. Responds appropriately in clinical emergencies and performs within the scope of practice for the position.

Following radiation safety procedures and guidelines [Required]
Able to perform all specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures [Required]
Ensuring all activities comply with regulatory agency standards [Required]
Knowledge of electrophysiology diagnostic procedures [Preferred]
