Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time employee to work in the Cath lab and EP lab. This 20-hour-per-week role involves assisting with patient care tasks, equipment handling, and documentation in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 6 months to 1 year of patient care experience, and CPR certification (or obtain it within 6 months). Good organizational skills are essential, with the ability to work flexible hours and on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 6 months-1 year of patient care experience preferred.
• CPR certification (If incumbent does not have CPR certification, he/she must obtain it within 6 months of employment).

Responsibilities

• Proper removal and documentation of femoral arterial and venous sheath from patients.
• Transportation of patients to procedure recovery area and nursing units.
• Maintenance of adequate levels of supplies.
• Transport of equipment for sterilization.
• Timely retrieval of supplies.
• Maintenance of patient film/CD library.
• Assist in patient data entry into WITT system pre-procedure.
• Work in close collaboration with Procedure/Recovery area for assistance in timely patient disposition.
• Promotes patient safety by reporting issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives.
