Job summary

The Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab at HCA Healthcare provides expert nursing care during diagnostic and interventional Cath Lab procedures, prioritizing patient safety and comfort in a high-acuity environment. Under general supervision, you assist as monitor or circulator, administer medications, start IVs, document findings, and coordinate with physicians and staff.

You will mentor new Cath Lab staff, support competency checks and in-services, and participate in performance improvement

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum two years’ Critical Care/ER or Cath Lab experience required.
• Texas RN license with BLS and ACLS obtained from approved provider.
• Ability to provide patient-centered nursing care and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assists with diagnostic and interventional procedures in Cath Lab as monitor or circulator.
• Provides individual nursing care.
• Administers medications, starts IVs, operates equipment.
• Prepares patients for examination.
• Documents appropriate information.
• Interacts with patients and physicians.
• Assists with orientation/education of all new Cath Lab employees.
• Assists with maintenance of staff competency checks and scheduling of in-services.
• Assists with performance improvement, performs related duties as assigned.
