Job summary

CHI is seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join a specialized cardiovascular team. You will prepare, monitor, and recover patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, and other minimally invasive procedures in a fast-paced lab.

You will supervise care per policy and state nurse practice acts, demonstrate critical thinking, and collaborate with cardiologists, technologists, and anesthesia providers to ensure patient safety and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Nursing Degree from an approved school of nursing.
• 2-3 years of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Active RN license in North Dakota or a compact state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications within orientation period and recertification as required.
• Good communication and confidentiality in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pre-procedure assessment and preparation for Cardiac Cath Lab procedures, including history review, consent verification, IV access, and pre-procedure meds.
• Monitor patients continuously during complex cardiac and peripheral interventional procedures, including sedation, rhythm interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and vital signs.
• Assist Cardiologist and Cath Lab team during sterile diagnostic and interventional procedures (angioplasty, stenting, pacemaker insertions), manage equipment and aseptic technique.
• Perform post-procedure recovery care with frequent assessments for bleeding, hematoma, or vascular compromise; manage pain and discharge education.
• Collaborate with Cardiologists, Radiologic Technologists, anesthesia providers, and other specialists to optimize patient flow and care delivery.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, medications, procedures, and events per hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
