Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a part-time Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to deliver direct patient care in the cardiac cath and electrophysiology labs. This 10-hour/week, day-shift role works on-site with EP cardiologists and cath lab staff to support procedures, orders, documentation, and patient education.

Candidates should have a Master’s degree (PA or NP) and applicable licensure (PA-C or NP with ACNP/AGACNP).

Qualifications

• PA: Graduate of an accredited Master’s Degree or DMSc PA Program.
• NP: Graduate of an accredited MSN or DNP Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program for adults.
• PA-C certification; NP with ACNP or AGACNP certification.
• Current unrestricted medical license to practice as PA or NP in NC.
• Federal and state DEA prescriptive authority.
• One year of cardiology experience preferred; new grads considered with relevant background.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.
• Order, review, and interpret labs and imaging; communicate results to patients and team.
• Ensure documentation and quality indicators for pre- and post-procedures.
• Lead communication between cath lab teams and multidisciplinary groups.
• Educate patients and families on consent and post-procedure care.
• Provide patient education and follow-up.
• Serve as liaison for cath lab/EP registry teams.
• Contribute to quality improvement projects with physician leadership.
