Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a CV Invasive Specialist I to support cardiac catheterization procedures in a busy cath lab. You will assist in preparation, monitor patients, and ensure accurate documentation while maintaining imaging safety and quality.

Role requires knowledge of invasive cardiovascular procedures, certifications where applicable, and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team. Full-time hours include 9-hour shifts with on-call duties in a high-acuity environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include BLS for healthcare providers, and certifications such as PALS/ACLS within 3 months.
• Several degree pathways in health sciences or radiologic/cardiovascular technology are acceptable.
• Invasive cardiovascular technology training with at least 800 clinical hours is required.
• Current license where applicable and fluoroscopy operator certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in procedure room preparation and post-procedure turnover.
• Maintain knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies and document hemodynamic data.
• Provide patient education and emotional support; support teamwork and communication with physicians.
• Understand cardiopulmonary physiology and pharmacology relevant to procedures; assess patient condition and inform physicians of deviations.
• Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment and maintain radiation safety principles.
• May mix and administer medications under physician supervision (RCIS/RCES required to pass medications) as allowed by state law.
• Document procedures accurately and manage data entry and imaging studies for registry requirements.
• Develop skills in operating cath lab equipment and perform QA and point-of-care testing.
• Scrub, circulate, and monitor in various cath lab procedures per scope of practice; ensure compliance with standards.

Bachelor's degree in health science with healthcare experience

Graduate of Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Nursing program

Diploma or associate program in health science with one year healthcare experience

Graduate of invasive cardiovascular technology program with 800 clinical hours

Fluoroscopy Operator Certification

Surgical Tech/Assistant Certification per state requirements

Basic Life Support (BLS)

PALS/ACLS within 3 months of start
