Job summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist I (CVIT I) for the Adult Cardiac Cath Lab. The role offers a guided orientation, develops expertise in cardiovascular imaging, hemodynamic monitoring, and procedural support within a high-acuity environment.

New graduates or technicians moving into invasive cardiology will grow toward scrubs and independent practice, with on-call STEMI support and ongoing competency validation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program – required.
• Prior cardiovascular or interventional imaging experience – preferred.
• ARRT certification must be obtained within timeframe – required for licensure.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist with NYS license or eligibility – required.
• BCLS/ACLS within specified timeframe – required (ACLS).

Responsibilities

• Participates in structured Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory orientation.
• Provides radiologic imaging support during cardiovascular procedures.
• Develops competency in cath lab workflow and documentation.
• Progresses to scrub training with a preceptor.
• Completes NYS certification for intravascular contrast administration.
• Part of multidisciplinary team ensuring safe patient care.
• Participates in emergency on-call rotation after orientation.
