Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time patient care assistant in the Cath lab and EP lab at Advocate Christ Medical Center. The role includes procedural support, patient transport, supply maintenance, and documentation with a focus on safety and efficient workflow.

The position requires standing for long periods, the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, CPR certification (obtain within 6 months if not already possessed), and flexible on-call hours.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 6 months-1 year of patient care experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• CPR certification required (must obtain within 6 months if not already held).
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and work in a high-stress environment.

Responsibilities

• Proper removal and documentation of femoral arterial and venous sheath.
• Transport of patients to procedure recovery area and nursing units.
• Maintenance of supplies and transportation of equipment for sterilization.
• Timely retrieval of supplies and maintenance of patient film/CD library.
• Assist in data entry into the WITT system pre-procedure; collaborate with Procedure/Recovery areas for timely disposition.
• Support patient safety by reporting issues and participating in safety initiatives.
