Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Cardiac Intermediate unit, part-time nights. The role supports RN staff by performing basic patient care, monitoring vitals, and assisting with daily living activities on a 6pm–6:30am shift with rotating weekends.

Preferred candidates include graduates of an accredited Nursing Assistant program or phlebotomy training, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant or equivalent required or nursing student with one semester completed.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs, blood glucose, and intake/output.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Report changes in condition to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms.
• Prioritize tasks and manage unit workflow under RN supervision.
