Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, from admission to discharge, in a hospital setting.

Candidates must hold a Rhode Island Nursing Assistant license, be able to perform basic care and documentation, and work a day shift 7a–7p with weekend coverage as needed. Union: International Brotherhood Teamsters.

Qualifications

• Current Rhode Island license as a Nursing Assistant.
• High school graduate or its equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform basic computer skills.
• Certified in American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients across life span.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Registered Nurse to organize work and set priorities.
• Performs personal care and basic nursing assistant tasks as outlined by state regulations.
• Rehabilitation and activities of daily living support; ambulates patients as appropriate.
• Maintain safe environment and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
• Document data in the EHR and care flowsheets accurately.

Education

Rhode Island Nursing Assistant license (CNA)
