Job summary

Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a provider, including vitals, allergy/med reconciliation, screenings, and medical history, plus indirect duties like scheduling, check-in/out, referrals, and chart prep.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification.
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association within 3 months.
• Credentials maintained throughout employment.
• At least 1 year of direct patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under provider supervision, including vitals, allergy/med reconciliation, screenings, and patient history.
• Provides indirect patient care such as scheduling, check-in/out, referrals, and chart prep.
• Conducts point-of-care testing with quality control and documentation.
• Performs EKG testing and obtains vital signs, INR readings.
• Supports physicians during cardiac stress tests and manages monitoring devices.
• Performs administrative duties and covers front desk as needed.
• Floats to other Hartford HealthCare offices based on business needs.
