Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
• Experience with pre-admission, registration and insurance authorization processes.
• Familiarity with managed care, referrals and ambulatory scheduling.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities are essential.
• Spanish language skills are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and assist patients and staff in a courteous manner.
• Answer calls and route inquiries to appropriate personnel.
• Collect registration data for reimbursement and records.
• Coordinate referrals and ensure current insurance authorizations.
• Schedule procedures and maintain operating room calendar.
• Prepare and distribute informational packets as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with hospital standards.
• Generate daily/monthly reports and manage calendars for staff.
