Job summary

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Lubbock Heart team in a full-time capacity. The role involves assessing and planning care for adolescent to geriatric acute care patients, with emphasis on safe medication administration and family education.

Required TX RN license, BCLS/ACLS, 2–5 years in cardiac care, and supervisory experience; BSN preferred. Flexible LHSH incentives include scheduling and no mandatory overtime.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Currently licensed in the state of Texas (TX).
• BCLS and ACLS required.
• 2-5 years’ experience in cardiac care setting and prior supervisory experience required.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical, biophysical and health education needs of adolescent, adult, and geriatric acute care patients.
• Gather pertinent patient care data using all available resources.
• Establish a nursing plan of care with measurable goals for age groups.
• Prepare discharge plans and follow-up for patient and family needs.
• Develop monthly staffing plans with supervisor.
• Administer medications safely in acute care units.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Document nursing care for accurate medical records.
