Job description

What You’ll Do

As a Card Services Specialist, you will be responsible for processing, posting, and balancing card accounts while ensuring work is completed accurately, timely, and in alignment with Credit Union policies and procedures. You will research and resolve card processing disputes, process chargebacks, follow up on represented chargebacks, and make account adjustments as needed. This role also supports card ordering, reissues, warning bulletin placement, GL account maintenance, and assigned payment services operations.

You will complete related reports, records, and file maintenance, as well as provide analysis and assistance on payment services activities. Depending on department needs, duties may also include supporting wire verification, sending and receiving wires, ATM issue resolution, mobile deposit processing, and gift card support.

In this role, you will professionally assist members, vendors, institutions, merchants, branch teams, and internal departments by answering questions, resolving or referring requests, and communicating information clearly and courteously. You will help keep members and employees informed of Credit Union services and policies while maintaining confidentiality and representing UCCU with professionalism.

You will also support effective coordination within the department by assisting branches and related teams, backing up department personnel as needed, keeping management informed of significant activities or concerns, participating in meetings and training, completing special projects, maintaining a clean and secure work area, staying current on card processing operations and policy changes, and working a regular and predictable schedule.

Who You Are

You are a high school graduate or equivalent with some knowledge of card processing procedures and requirements. You bring one to two years of related experience, preferred, along with strong communication and public relations skills. You are detail-oriented, well organized, and comfortable using math skills to analyze accounts accurately. You enjoy assisting others and are able to effectively use a PC, calculator, phone, and related business equipment to support daily operations.

What Success Looks Like

Related GLs, reports, and records are complete, correct, and timely, and problem accounts are researched and resolved promptly. You build and maintain professional business relationships with members, employees, businesses, and Credit Union personnel by providing assistance and support as needed. You also keep management appropriately informed of area activities and any significant concerns.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and market alignment. The total package includes a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits consistent with UCCU's commitment to its employees.

Why UCCU

Founded in 1955 by a BYU faculty member and six colleagues with just $5 each, UCCU began on a campus stair landing with its assets kept in a cast-iron tub. Seventy years later, Utah Community Credit Union has grown into one of the nation’s fastest-growing credit unions, serving more than 185,000 members with over $3 billion in assets and a clear vision to reach $10 billion by 2033.

What has remained constant is UCCU's founding philosophy: people helping people. As a not-for-profit, member-owned institution, UCCU is committed to helping members improve their financial strength, achieve their goals, and love where they bank. Today, that mission is matched by a deliberate growth strategy, strong leadership, and a culture built on honesty, service, respect, fiscal responsibility, and investment in people.

For the right person, UCCU offers more than a place to work - it offers a chance to be part of something growing, purposeful, and deeply rooted in helping people thrive. Here, every role matters. Every contribution helps strengthen members, support communities, and shape the future of a trusted, member-owned institution. UCCU looks for people who want to grow as leaders in every part of life - from the boardroom to the family room, and from the bank to the backyard - while building something meaningful together.
