Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in software engineering and problem solving.
• 4+ years of professional coding experience, shipping products.
• Product sense and focus on resolving causes of declined transactions.
• Comfortable querying and analyzing data.
• Genuine interest in adversarial problems and identifying patterns in transaction data.
• Resume required; candidates may be located in the Cayman Islands, Denver, or New York, or be open to relocation; work authorization can be provided for Grand Cayman.

Responsibilities

• Improve the card transaction experience by eliminating causes of declines, failed authorizations, stuck holds, and user friction.
• Improve the card program by identifying breakpoints, proposing fixes, and shipping them.
• Hunt fraud and abuse patterns including card testing, cashback farming, merchant abuse, friendly fraud, trial and force-post abuse, and multi-account rings.
• Own fraud rules, queues, scoring logic in Sardine, real-time monitoring, alerting, and automated mitigation.
• Investigate live cases by querying transaction data, identifying root causes, and proposing preventative rules or controls.
• Build internal tools, dashboards, and scripts for risk and CX teams.
• Collaborate with Product, CX, Compliance, the card program, and fraud vendors.
