Job summary

ether.fi in Denver, CO is seeking a technical Fraud Engineer who thrives on outsmarting attackers and owning end-to-end fraud systems across campaigns and the card program.

You will design real-time monitoring, craft risk rules, build dashboards, and work closely with Engineering/CX to scale defenses worldwide. A willingness to learn coding with AI agents is welcome as we push for proactive fraud defense.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in spotting anomalous patterns and threat hunting.
• Ability to derive hidden signals from noisy transaction and behavioral data.
• High ownership, low-ego, and ability to drive results in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Own, design and build real-time fraud monitoring, alerting, and automated mitigation systems.
• Hunt emerging threats: cashback farming, card testing, merchant abuse, friendly fraud, and laundering.
• Develop and tune advanced fraud rules, behavioral signals, and scoring logic.
• Build internal tools, dashboards, and scripts to boost team effectiveness.
• Define fraud strategy and scalable operational playbooks.
• Communicate with cross-teams and external partners to mitigate fraud risks.
