Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior software engineer to design, build, and operate low-latency fraud prevention services and APIs across the platform. You will modernize Python services, tooling, and engineering practices while collaborating with data scientists and product teams to productionize fraud capabilities.

The role emphasizes AWS cloud architectures, event-driven patterns, and AI-assisted development, with mentorship responsibilities and a focus on reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building and operating production software systems.
• Deep proficiency in Python and building maintainable services and APIs.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and modern CI/CD practices.
• Experience designing distributed, event-driven, or serverless systems.
• Strong understanding of API design, system integration, reliability, and observability.
• Ability to work effectively in large or complex enterprise codebases.
• Comfortable learning across technologies when needed.
• Experience with Git-based development workflows and modern Python tooling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration across teams.
• Interest in AI-powered development tools.

• Design, build, and operate reliable fraud prevention services and APIs.
• Deliver new fraud capabilities and improve production systems individually and collaboratively.
• Modernize Python services, tooling, and standards across the fraud platform.
• Advance the team’s use of AI-assisted software engineering.
• Design and operate cloud-native AWS architectures, including serverless systems.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product teams, and engineers to productionize fraud detection.
• Mentor engineers and establish maintainable patterns and engineering practices.
