Job summary

Hillside Honda is seeking a Service Dispatcher to manage weekday service flow. You will work with the Service Manager to ensure processes are followed by technicians and to maximize shop efficiency.

This role requires strong customer service, automotive familiarity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced dealership environment. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have strong customer interaction skills.
• Experience in automotive environment is strongly preferred.
• Solid reading, math and numeric data interpretation abilities.
• Proficient with basic computer tasks and software.

Responsibilities

• Implements and maintains an effective dispatch system.
• Schedules shop work to maximize productivity per dealership policy and technician levels.
• Prioritizes and controls all comebacks for prompt attention.
• Ensures proper repair order documentation with timestamps for each operation.
• Reviews job status, logs updates, and reports changes in time or cost estimates to the service advisor or customer.
• Maintains timely and professional contact with service customers.
• Keeps an organized and up-to-date repair log.
• Opens and closes repair orders; ensures warranty material disposition procedures are followed.
• Communicates job status with the Service Advisor.
• Schedules maintenance for service department vehicles and equipment.
• Maintains a clean and professional work area and appearance.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Service Dispatcher / Weekdays, (Monday through Friday)

The Dispatcher organizes and controls the flow of service work through the service department in a professional, timely manner. Will work closely with Service Manager on a daily basis to ensure processes are being followed by technicians to maximize shop flow and profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implements and maintains an effective dispatch system.
• Schedules shop work to facilitate maximum productivity in accordance with dealership policy and the technician skill level required.
• Prioritizes and controls all comebacks to ensure proper and prompt attention.
• Ensures proper repair order documentation, i.e., complaint, cause and correction noted on every repair order with punch time for each operation.
• Reviews job status frequently, logging status and reporting any change in time or cost estimates to the appropriate service advisor and/or customer.
• Maintains timely and professional contact with service customers.
• Maintains an organized and up-to-date repair log.
• Reviews hard copies of repair orders turned in by technicians to ensure that assigned work has been performed and the repair order has been completed properly.
• Opens and closes repair orders.
• Ensures that technicians follow warranty material disposition procedures.
• Communicates job status with the Service Advisor.
• Schedules maintenance for service department vehicles and equipment.
• Maintains a clean work area.
• Maintains a professional appearance.
• Other tasks as assigned.
