Job summary

Hertz is seeking a Car Control Clerk at our Memphis site to ensure vehicles are rental ready, including inspections, registrations, and staging. You will split time between an office and outdoor work using handheld EAM devices, handling emails, reports, and meetings.

You will review fleet status, correct miscodes, and assist with asset control; strong computer, Excel, and GPS skills are essential for timely operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in car rental or asset control is preferred.
• Asset control experience preferred.
• Logistics or transportation experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to work outdoors in inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities to make vehicles rental/sale ready, including inspections and registrations.
• Review site VAW variance to resolve miscodes.
• Organize vehicle staging on lot for quick action, including scanning with mobile devices.
• Review non-rentable units and fleet levels with Pool Fleet Manager to resolve issues.
• Ensure vehicles are tagged with Quadrant system and monitor aging.
• Inventory vehicles and monitor asset control points; track current fleet.
• Add new asset tags to incoming fleet and receive vehicles in EAM.
• Complete administrative duties: data entry, emails, reports, and meetings.
• Coordinate transportation and car haulers, including Non-Revenue moves.

Job Description

The primary focus of a Car Control Clerk is to execute on various day to day activities to ensure vehicles are rental ready in both status and location. This individual will coordinate processes such as registration, inventory, staging, and tracking non-retable vehicles for a specific site. They will also split their time between an office setting and outside. Working with vehicles outside, utilizing handheld EAM enabled devices. They will also be handling emails, report generation and review, as well as some meetings.

Wage: $17.00/hour

Location: 3623 Airways Blvd Memphis, TN 38116

What You'll Do

• Coordinate the activities required to make vehicles rental/sale ready such as inspections and registrations, as well as execute to complete these functions
• Review VAW variance of their site to resolve cars improperly coded
• Help organize the staging of vehicles on lot to ensure that quick action is taken for vehicles based on their status, including scanning with mobile devices
• Review non-rentable units (out of service) and fleet levels, working with the Pool Fleet Manager to resolve status issues and get cars back on the road
• Ensure all vehicles are marked with the Quadrant system and follow up on cars aging based upon window markings/No Rev reporting
• Inventory vehicles and monitoring asset control points, ensuring that current fleet is properly monitored
• Adding new asset tags to incoming new fleet and receiving vehicles in EAM
• Responsible for the completion of Administrative duties such as data entry, responding to emails, viewing reports, closing work orders, and attending conference calls
• Will coordinate transportation and car haulers, including scanning of Non-Revenue moves

Position Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a valid drivers license
• Must be able to work in inclement weather outdoors
• Must be flexible for scheduling. Some positions may require nights, holidays, and / or weekends.

Professional Experience

• Prior experience in the car rental industry preferred.
• Prior asset control experience preferred.
• Prior logistic or transportation experience preferred.

Skills

• Must have ability to work with computers and tablets
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Outlook
• Must have the ability to navigate GPS mapping application and follow guided directions
• Must have strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Must be adaptable and flexible, ability to quickly change direction and focus
• Must be self-starter with ability to work autonomously
