Hylant is seeking a Captive Reinsurance Accountant in Kansas to support evaluation and management of reinsurance contracts, claims, and relations with reinsurers. You will prepare technical, financial accounting of premium, claims and reserves based on statements of accounts or bordereaux.

You will review contracts for policy adherence, manage settlements, generate reports, and advise internal stakeholders on statutory and reinsurance accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in reinsurance accounting, insurance, or similar finance area.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluency in English.
• Willingness to travel by car or plane for meetings.

Responsabilités

• Review and analyze reinsurance contracts to ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines.
• Manage the processing and settlement of reinsurance claims, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Generate reinsurance reports and conduct analysis to support decision-making.
• Consult internal stakeholders on Statutory and Reinsurance Accounting expertise and guidance.
• Drive continuous process improvement and standardization; actively identify areas for process improvement and inefficiencies.
• Join relevant training sessions to maintain current relevant knowledge and of the system, processes, and changes.
• Keep SOP/training guides up to date for role and processes in collaboration with Captive Account Executives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
