Job summary

State of Arizona’s Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions seeks a Financial Analyst 1 - Captive in Phoenix to analyze insurer financial statements and related regulatory filings. The role involves preparing summary reports, monitoring captive insurers, and supporting regulatory decisions.

Qualified candidates will have a degree in accounting/finance/economics (CPA/AFE/CFE preferred) and strong skills in Excel and auditing.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of solvency regulation standards and statutory accounting practices.
• Understanding of insurance operations, risks and risk management.
• Understanding of risks from non-insurance operations of an insurance group.
• Proficiency in Word/Excel and related software.
• Auditing knowledge and standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze insurer financial statements and related regulatory filings to detect deficiencies and non-compliance.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and communicate results with management.
• Review NAIC FAST tools and external sources for solvency analysis and risk.
• Organize and maintain analysis files.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
