The District of Columbia Government seeks a Surveillance Analyst in the Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB) Risk Finance Bureau. You will monitor captive insurers to ensure solvency and financial health, reviewing plans, statements, and examinations to advise on regulatory action.

Responsibilities include evaluating annual reports, deposits, capital, surplus, and earnings, and applying regulatory standards while maintaining compliance with district rules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, accounting, insurance, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, real estate operations, statistics or related fields.
• Specialized experience in financial analysis with knowledge of corporate finance and related financial practices.

Responsabilités

• Conduct surveillance analysis of captive insurers to assess solvency and financial health.
• Review and analyze business plans, pro‑forma financial statements, and regulatory reports; provide recommendations for regulatory action.
• Evaluate annual/quarterly statements, deposit requirements, capital and surplus, and net income/loss to determine financial condition.
