Job summary

Hornblower Group is seeking a Captain to oversee the onboard management, safety and operation of a passenger vessel. The Captain ensures crew performance, regulatory compliance, and safe navigation under all conditions.

Requires a 100-TON Master Inland or higher, TWIC, and USCG-regulated knowledge. The role includes supervising shifts, training staff, and maintaining logs while upholding company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 100-TON Master Inland or above License.
  • TWIC, First Aid/CPR.
  • Marine Radio Operator Permit.
  • Detail Oriented / situational awareness.
  • Strong Radar / Navigation skills.
  • Strong customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain a high level of organization, detailed oriented and meet deadlines.
  • Available for nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard manager and representative for the vessel.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation and navigation in all conditions.
  • Man crew according to COI and passenger counts.
  • Train crew and ensure compliance with USCG and company policies.
  • Report accidents and incidents promptly with accurate documentation.
  • Oversee vessel appearance and cleanliness; manage maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct safety drills and maintain security procedures.
  • Lead daily crew briefings and log activities.
