Job summary

Hornblower Group’s City Experiences division is seeking a Captain to oversee safe operation, maintenance, and onboard leadership on a Coast Guard-inspected passenger vessel in the United States. You will supervise crew, ensure compliance with COI and USCG regulations, and maintain high service and safety standards for guests.

The role requires a 100-TON Master Inland or higher, TWIC, First Aid/CPR, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 100-TON Master Inland or above License.
  • TWIC, First Aid/CPR.
  • Detail Oriented / situational awareness.
  • Strong focus on safety and teamwork.
  • Strong customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • The Captain is the company’s onboard manager and representative.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and navigation of the vessel and the safety of all aboard.
  • Ensures proper manning in accordance with COI and conducts accurate passenger counts.
  • Train vessel crew and ensure compliance with USCG and company policies.
  • Immediately report accidents or incidents and complete required forms.
  • Maintain appearance and cleanliness of the vessel.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on various systems.
  • Conduct security drills and safety trainings.
  • Lead daily job briefings and ensure logbook accuracy.
  • Enforce company policies and Coast Guard regulations.
  • Adapt to emergencies and operational needs.
