Job summary

State of Oregon is seeking a meticulous Session Tape Log Clerk to support the House operations for the 2027 Regular Session. The role is on-site in Salem and begins December 1, 2026, ending July 2, 2027. You will maintain daily recording logs, review logs for accuracy, and assist in journal revisions and confidential document handling.

No prior experience is required as comprehensive training is provided; this is a limited-duration employee position with on-site work at the Oregon State Capitol.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency.
• No experience is required; comprehensive training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Produce an accurate and detailed recording log for the House daily floor sessions.
• Conduct thorough review and proofreading of the recording log to correct discrepancies and verify completeness and precision.
• Contributing to the daily journal revision team, assisting with accuracy and archival of legislative records.
• Assist in the office with filing documents and information that are politically sensitive and confidential.
• Assist proofreading of various legislative documents including the daily floor agenda, committee reports, messages between the chambers.
• Assist with bill folder audits and print new documents as necessary to prepare for post session House journal revisions.
