Job summary

The Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking an experienced Public Service Supervisor to support the operation and maintenance of the Capitol Complex and Iowa Laboratories Facility. You will lead a team responsible for essential facility services and serve on the Capitol Complex Maintenance Bureau’s supervisory team, coordinating services that keep state facilities safe and welcoming.

• Has experience supervising employees and coordinating facility or operational services.
• Can balance changing priorities while maintaining consistent service and follow-through.
• Communicates clearly and professionally with employees, leadership, customers, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee the day-to-day work of assigned team members.
• Coordinate facility programs and services including HVAC, energy management, custodial, grounds, mail, and building automation.
• Serve as a liaison between facility occupants and Capitol Complex Maintenance, ensuring timely maintenance requests and updates.
• Plan and complete small- to medium-sized projects and document progress and outcomes.
