Job summary

SIRIS is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to provide full-time engineering, project controls, and construction administration for Architect of the Capitol projects in Washington, DC. The role involves collaborating with federal clients, contractors, and consultants on active facilities and high-visibility renovations.

The candidate will lead cost/schedule controls, IGCEs, and risk management across multiple concurrent projects, with on-site responsibilities and travel within Capitol

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Active PE license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in construction administration.
  • Experience supporting federal construction projects or capital programs.
  • Experience with independent government cost estimates (IGCEs).
  • Strong project controls, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Experience coordinating submittals, RFIs, change orders, and claims.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specs, contracts, scopes of work, and prepare analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering, project controls, and construction administration for multiple Capitol campus projects.
  • Support procurement development with scopes, schedules, and cost data.
  • Prepare or review IGCEs, quantity takeoffs, cost breakdowns, and analyses.
  • Monitor schedules, budgets, risks, changes, and performance trends; report status.
  • Review drawings, submittals, RFIs, COs, and claims for compliance.
  • Conduct field engineering, site observations, and quality assurance activities.
  • Maintain project control logs for submittals, RFIs, changes, and risks.
  • Assist with progress meetings, field coordination, and closeout documentation.
  • Identify risks and escalate with clear recommendations.
